Speech on Jawaharlal Nehru

Speech about Jawaharlal Nehru for children’s day-

Good morning to all the teachers and my dear friends.

I am Shalu from class 7th section-A to be your host on this auspicious occasion of today. I welcome you all to the 15th Annual Day celebrations.

Before starting today’s ceremony and show I thought of giving a brief speech on one of the great national leaders of India and the first name that came to my mind is the first Prime Minister of independent India Jawaharlal Nehru.

I know he needs no introduction because his great contribution towards India’s freedom struggle made him immortal and that is why he lives in the heart of every Indian.

Jawaharlal Nehru was born on 14th November 1889  in the Sangam city of Allahabad. His father was Mr. Motilal Nehru and his mother was Mrs. Swarooprani Thussu. He went abroad and took his education and being a true Indian, used his education to come to India for the benefit of the country.

He belonged to the elite class, but following the footsteps of Gandhiji, he adopted a simple life and wore Khadi clothes. It was his love for the country that he successfully led many movements without fear. He also went to jail several times and also became the President of the Congress Party.

He was married to Kamala Kaul and their daughter’s name was Indira Gandhi. He was also a very good writer. Some of his major books are My Story, Glimpses of World History, Discovery of India, etc. He was very fond of children, so his birthday is celebrated as ‘Children’s Day.

Jawaharlal Nehru was a true promoter of peace and it was he who presented five important principles called “Panchsheel”. He dedicated his whole life to the good of his country.

In today’s time when corruption is very high in our socio-political field then we really need leaders who can work with a dedicated mind towards the development and progress of India.

Now I am going to conclude my speech, thank you all for being here and making this program a success.

Jai Hind /Jai Bharat

Speech on Jawaharlal Nehru for children’s day

Good morning to all the teachers and my dear friends.

Today we have gathered here on the day of Children’s Day and of course to give special importance to those students which they really deserve. The Management Committee has decided not to conduct any classes today and to encourage all the children to enjoy this function especially the things for which they are organized here.

We all know that Children’s Day is celebrated every year on 14th November but how many of you know the importance of this day? Why has only this date been chosen for the celebration? Children who do not know about this day, I am seeing the surprised faces of them, then I would like to tell you that this date is the birthday of our great Indian statesman and the first Indian Prime Minister i.e. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and it is celebrated as Children’s Day across the country. celebrated as Despite being embroiled in India’s freedom struggle, his immense love and affection for children did not diminish with time as he greatly enjoyed the innocence of children. In other words, children were the epitome of innocence, love, and care for Chacha Nehru.

Jawaharlal Nehru, born on 14 November 1889, was a prominent figure in the freedom struggle of India and politics. He became the ruling head of our country in 1947 and ruled until his death in 1964. He is considered the architect of the contemporary Indian nation-state: a secular, socialist, sovereign, and democratic republic. Interestingly, he is addressed by many names like Pandit Nehru because of his birth in the Kashmiri Pandit community and Chacha Nehru for the pure love he has for children.

He was born into a prosperous family. His father Motilal Nehru was a famous lawyer as well as a nationalist leader and his mother’s name was Swaroop Rani Nehru. He completed his graduation from Trinity College, Cambridge, and later trained as a barrister at the Inner Temple. When he returned to India, he started his practice at the Allahabad High Court from where his interest in national politics grew, and due to which he also gave up his legal practice.

During the raging crisis of 1910, Jawaharlal Nehru became a committed nationalist from his teens and actively participated in country-state politics. He worked under the tutelage of another great nationalist leader, Mahatma Gandhi, and became a well-known leader of the leftist division of the Indian National Congress in the early 20th century, and finally after becoming president of the entire Congress party in 1929. Urged the British rule to fight for complete independence. We need not say that our country has achieved heights of success during its tenure.

Jawaharlal Nehru was a great personality as well as a great person and he has also been awarded the Bharat Ratna for his incomparable contribution to Indian history and is remembered even today.

Now I am going to conclude my speech, thank you all for being here and making this program a success.

Jai Hind /Jai Bharat
