What is SSC CPO?

SSC CPO is a competitive exam conducted by SSC to recruit for the posts of Sub Inspector in various paramilitary forces. Staff Selection Commission conducts SSC CPO (Central Police Organisation) recruitment exam every year for the post of SI (Sub Inspector)/ ASI in Delhi Police and CAPFs/ CAPFs.

How to prepare for SSC CPO Exam?

If you have always been desperate to be a part of any of these military options like police, and paramilitary forces then the SSC CPO exam is considered to be a perfect opportunity. First of all, you need to clear the tier written test, with this you have to keep your body fit to clear the physical standard test, medical test, and physical test.

Eligibility criteria to apply for CPO

To apply for CPO, the candidate must have such qualifications

1. To apply for CPO, the candidate must have a graduate or equivalent degree.

2. The age of the candidate should be between 20 to 25 years. Some age relaxation is provided for the reserved category.

Physical Ability –

1. For the application of CPO, the height of the male should be -170 cm, the chest should be 80 – 85 cm and the height of the female should be 157 cm.

2. The height of the ST / SC male candidate should be 162.5 cm, the chest should be 77 to 82 cm and SC / ST female candidate should have a height of 154 cm.

SSC CPO Exam Pattern

SSC CPO Exam is mainly conducted in four parts of which test paper is taken in two parts. But in this exam one has to pass physical standard, physical endurance test after that medical test has to be given. On the basis of merit list on qualifying in all the paper candidate is hired through the selected post.

The nature of the CPO exam is as follows –

1. Computer Based Examination
2. Physical Standard Test (PST)/(PET)
3. Paper 2 – English and Comprehension
4. Medical Test (DME)

Tier 1 – Tier 1 of CPO comprises of four sections General Knowledge, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, General Intelligence. Each section is of 50 marks in which objective-type questions are asked. The first test paper of CPO is set in Hindi and English and a total of 200 questions are asked in which the duration to solve is 2 hours. The first paper of CPO is computer-based which is taken online.

Tier 2 – The second stage of the CPO exam is to clear the Physical Standard Test (PST)/(PET) in which the candidate has to run 100 meters in 16 seconds, 1.6 kilometers in 6.5 minutes, 3 long jumps, 3 high jumps. etc but there is a difference between the (PST)/(PET) test women and men test.

Tier 3 – In this exam, the candidate’s English is tested in which 200 objective type questions are asked and these questions have to be solved in 2 hours. This CPO exam is taken online computer-based.

Tier 4 – Fourth is the medical examination. This examination is conducted by the officer or assistant surgeon in the hospital or dispensary.

Your job duty also includes the seizure of any person or his vehicle or place, as the case may be. You will be responsible for compliance with documents received from SI.

BSF – When it comes to job duties related to BSF, the responsibilities change accordingly. You will be responsible for ensuring the security of borders like India-Pakistan, India-Bangladesh. You will be responsible for convincing people that they are under security and living in a safe environment in the border areas. They live close to the borders. They are also responsible for not doing any kind of illegal activities like smuggling etc.

CRPF – You need to provide excellent security for various repeat units and government infrastructure across the country.
