Application to the Principal on certain occasions, we write letters to our friends, relatives, and parents. While writing letters, the following points are to be kept in mind.

The Date: The date is written on the left corner of the application after the addressee of the address. It should be written in full.
For examples- 14 February, 20_
The salutation: The salutation is placed on the left side of the application just below the date.
The Body: The body is the main part of the application. It is divided into paragraphs according to the subject matter. It includes the reason for writing the application.
The Subscription: Just below the body of the letter the subscription is written. It is a courteous leave-taking before the letter is ended. It should be according to the salutation.
The Signature: Below the subscription, the writer should put his/her signature/name.

I have the honor to request that I may be selected for the school cricket team. I could not attend the selection camp due to prolonged sickness as I was suffering from diarrhea and was absent from the school.
It may be noted that I was a member of the school cricket team last year which won the ‘Inter-School Cricket Championship’. I scored 50 runs and took three catches in the final which significantly contributed towards our win.
